This basement in West Springs in SW Calgary is in a single-family home. The basement has a main living area, bathroom, and bedroom and features a wet bar, fireplace, entertainment centre, and an open stairwell. LED potlights are installed throughout the basement, in addition to vanity lights and dome lighting selected from Cartwright. The basement’s cold air returns were moved to the floor level and the ceiling’s heating system was replaced with circular diffusers. The basement is equipped with our TV package which includes 1 TV and internet connection, an in-wall HDMI conduit, a raised plug and backing for a wall mounted TV, with additional TV and internet connections in the bedroom. 5mm luxury vinyl plank flooring is installed throughout the basement and the paint, trim, and doors are matched to the rest of the home. The open carpeted stairwell includes sprayed MDF capping.

The awe inspiring Canadian-made 30-inch Napoleon fireplace was placed in the corner to conserve space and has floor to ceiling full body black sparkle Travertine Ledgestone to make it pop . The fireplace is also equipped with a fan to provide the basement with more heat.

The wet bar features solid wood sprayed cabinets with soft-close doors and drawers and a granite top made to match the home's main level. The bar has an undermount sink and a Canadian made Riobel faucet. There is a full-size fridge with upper cabinets beside the wet bar and a full-size wine cooler on the bar’s opposite side, each with a dedicated circuit. There is also a rock wall beside the wet bar that matches the one enclosing the basement’s fireplace which successfully achieved the effect of some separation between the bar and the TV area

The work was well done and on time. The best part of the experience were the in person meetings with the Basement Builders Team. Their enthusiasm and input in the planning with ideas was great. Communication and scheduling of the contractors went smooth. In short, we are very satisfied with the service and very happy with the end product.
