We installed this basement suite in a single-family home in Skyview Ranch, near Calgary. The basement suite is designed specifically to serve as a legal rental suite with two bedrooms, which means being constructed in accordance with local building codes. The full suite includes a complete kitchen, bedrooms, entertainment area, and a bathroom. Prior to setting up the various rooms for the suite, we installed luxury vinyl plank on the floor, with carpet in the bedrooms. In order to keep to code, we installed a drywalled mechanical room as well. For heat, we installed a second furnace for the suite, complete with full separation from the other units. The paint job was designed to match the rest of the home. For the central entertainment area, we installed our full TV package. This includes one cable and internet connection, raised plug, in-wall conduit, complete with HDMI and TV backing. We also ran additional TV and internet to both bedrooms for full coverage.

Full Kitchen
The signature feature of this bedroom suite is a full legal kitchen, with appealing visual highlights like uppers and lowers with soft close hinges and a subway tile backsplash. This kitchen is also completely equipped with a full-sized refrigerator, stove, and 60/40 sink complete with a Riobel faucet. Not only does this keep to legal code for a rental suite, but it allows for complete cooking functionality.
