We installed this basement in a single-family home in Chestermere, west of Calgary. The basement suite consists of a central living/entertainment area that is designed to combine a central living area as well as a bathroom and bedroom. There is also an added wet bar and pool table area in order to make for a perfect entertainment space for guests and personal use. Prior to setting up the formal rooms, we implemented Shaw carpeting throughout, as well as stone accent walls for aesthetic appeal, as well as level 4 finish drywall and a textured ceiling. For lighting, we installed 16 LED potlights as well as decora plugs and switches, and for heat, we added 1 heat run to the bathroom. For the central entertainment area, we installed two TV packages. This includes cable and internet connections, raised plugs, in-wall conduits, complete with HDMI and TV backing for both televisions. Additional TV and Internet were run to the bedroom as well.

Wet Bar
We installed a fully functional, customized wet bar in this basement, complete with a Riobel faucet. The wet bar has a granite countertop and stained wood cabinets to match the upstairs area. For further functionality, we also added a raised eating bar.

Bathroom
Our suppliers offer a variety of different options when it comes to different shower/tub features, but our customer opted for upgraded Delta fixtures. The 5x3 shower also has an 10mm sliding glass door and floor to ceiling tile. The other signature feature of this bathroom is a high-end 31” vanity complete with a granite top and custom full-length mirror included in all of our basements.

We also made some additional electric installations to enhance the general entertainment area as well as the pool table area. These included a pool table light that the customer selected, as well as separate circuits for the pool table area and TV area. We also installed 7.1 surround sound with a built-in speaker in the wall and ceiling to enhance the audio.

We also worked to implement a stubb wall with a sprayed MDF trim in this same area. Combine this with our other additions and it will be a lot easier for guests to go back and forth between the basement and rest of the home, while providing a more welcoming entry into the central areas.
