Our clients prefer soft colour tones, but they weren’t sure how to achieve a look that wasn’t humdrum and drab. Our designer worked with them to achieve a palette of sophisticated neutrals, from the Sherwin Williams paint on the walls to the ceramic and porcelain tiles, quartz countertops and practical yet oh-so-stylish 5mm vinyl plank flooring.
Before we could begin on the design, though, first we had to correct mistakes by the previous builders — namely, the water lines. We also installed a sub panel for the electrical and added an egress window well.
We installed 6mm cork underlay below the vinyl plank flooring everywhere except the bathroom, which is tiled.

In the living room, the overall feeling is crisp, clean and airy. We emphasized the feeling of openness by cutting out part of the wall between the stairwell and the media zone, adding an MDF cap.
