Our top priority for this basement was to create a sense of tranquility from first sight as our clients walk down the stairs. We made use of every inch of space, while maintaining a feeling of breathing room.
New carpeting and thick underlay on the stairs add to the sense of comfort, leading to 7 mm luxury vinyl plank flooring with its own underlay. The flooring continues throughout the basement, bringing the look of hardwood, but with practical durability and easy care.
We brightened the space with white paint on the walls, and added dimmers throughout so lighting can be customized for mood and activity. We added a sub panel to the full electrical panel and built extra large storage in the bedroom, with a double-door oversized closet. We also replaced the fireplace on the main floor.
