The renovation began with Rockwool sound deadening insulation throughout — a vital component of any basement media zone to contain excessive audio within the lower level. We built oversized storage and added a custom niche with a mirror. We painted the walls a soft grey throughout the entire level, with white accents, to achieve a cohesive colour story.
With the perfect nook for a treadmill in the main area, we added a dedicated circuit. We also added a sub panel to the basement’s electrical panel, since the original panel was full.
We installed luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout the main area, and in the bedroom we installed 25-ounce carpet in a creamy color that exudes luxury, yet is sturdy and stain-resistant. We installed 8-pound underlay to add softness to every step.

Rec Room
Despite their preference for a modern look, our clients wanted the media zone to inspire cozy couch time. To ensure this, we installed a 42" electric fireplace into a feature wall with custom wallpaper. We also prepared a designated area with everything needed for a future wet bar, including plumbing and a dedicated electrical outlet.
