To make the most of the basement’s interior, the space needed to be functional but also inviting. The experience begins with the journey downstairs, clad in 6 mm wood click flooring and accented by an upgraded Aspen railing. We added carpeting and new egress windows in both bedrooms.
A change in layout was the answer to our clients’ main pain point — needing more usable space for a growing family. In addition to the bedrooms, the lower level of this home includes a large living room. We found even more space in the overly large mechanical room, enough to create a new room that our clients now use as an office. We achieved this by moving the laundry machines to create a new access to the mechanical and storage room. But we still had space to add a laundry sink in the mechanical room.
