The basement in this single-family home in Parkdale in NW Calgary has a main living area, bathroom, and two bedrooms. There are LED potlights throughout the basement, in addition to vanity lights and dome lighting selected by our on staff designer]. Circular diffusers with five heat runs were also added. The basement has our TV package which includes 1 TV and internet connection, an in-wall HDMI conduit, a raised plug and backing for a wall mounted TV, surround sound, and two sonos connect amps. There are also TV and internet connections in the bedrooms. The basement’s paint was matched to that on the home’s other levels.

At the edge of the main living area, the high quality custom wet bar has a Silgranite undermount sink, super high quality faucet, a tiled backsplash, and solid wood cabinets. There is LED lighting within the shelves and inside the cabinets. Dedicated circuits supply power for the high quality wine fridges. Custom vein cut Travertine tile was used for the bar floor and the bar’s leathered granite top is imported from Italy. All the interiors of the cabinets were made with the matching wood to the exterior taking the design to the next level.

Every door in this home was a solid wood hand made door. The weight of each door was so extensive that we needed to use ballbearing hinges just to support them. Each door cost roughly $1000. The door knobs were imported from Italy and matched the main level perfectly.

The bathroom features a custom 5 x 3 shower with a concrete base, full body tile, a large custom niche in the wall, and a 12mm sliding glass door. The bathroom has high quality antique bronze fixtures and shower handles, along with a fully upgraded 48-inch vanity with an undermount sink and an imported Italian leathered granite top. There is also a high quality Toto toilet, custom-cut mirror ,and Cartwright selected lighting.

In order to open up the basement as much as possible, the wall located at the bottom of the staircase was removed and an open custom stained railing and solid wood high quality posts were added, which match the decor on the property’s main level. This was stained 5 times to give the rich dark color it still has today.
